The Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal looked into the case of a Gulf woman who was suspended for insulting another via Snap Chat message and accusing her of belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood organisation.
The defendant denied the charge and stated that she works as a consultant at an institution and she holds PHD in political awareness.
The defendant was shocked when she received a call from the cybercrime detectives to inform her
that a woman filed a case against her.
She explained that her “Snapchat” account in general, and that she had received a message under a pseudonym name saying “fear Allah”, she replied “Hasbi Allah on the Muslim Brotherhood concepts that blackened the world in your eyes.” She pointed out that she replied in general without knowing the sender. But the other interpreted this sentence as an insult and accusation of belonging to the muslim brotherhood organization, and filed a case against her.
