Two die in UAE road accident as speeding car loses control

Two people died when a speeding car collided with a pedestrian in Sharjah’s Khor Fakkan area on Thursday morning, and ended up losing control and flipping over several times.

The operations room received information of the accident at 8.20am, following which traffic patrol and ambulances were dispatched to the site.

The driver was a UAE national, while the pedestrian who was run over was a Asian worker.

The 18-year-old driver passed away on the spot, while the 44-year-old worker died several hours after reaching the hospital.

The police said the vehicle was speeding and urged motorists to follow speed limits, especially at curves and tunnels.
