TRA reduces early termination fee for mobile services

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in UAE issues a decree to update early termination fees for the telecom operators so that the consumer has to pay the rent for one month only upon early termination of the contracts.
Previously, customers should pay the early termination fees of the contracts for number of months remaining in the contract but after the new decree, consumers shall pay the early termination fees of the contracts of one month only.
The Authority said that the amendments are applicable to mobile phones contracts and that TRA is working on implementing them in all packages and services at a later stage.
