Abu Dhabi: GCC National fined Dh10,000 for threatening bank employee

A GCC national is on trial for insulting a bank employee and threatening him in Abu Dhabi. This came after the bank employee asked the man to wait for his turn in the queue.

The employee had found that the customer wanted to withdraw some money from his account, yet the credit in his account wasn’t enough, he then referred the customer to the customer service department. The accused returned to the employee after going to the customer service department but the employee was handling another customer and therefore asked the man to wait in line.

The furious customer refused and started to threaten and insult the employee saying “don’t you know who I am? I will teach you a lesson.”

The Court of First Instance fined the man AED 10,000 and gave him a suspended three-month sentence. The case appeal is scheduled for a hearing on March 26th.
