Imprisonment and deportation for woman who assaulted an officer

An Uzbekistani woman found guilty for assaulting a policewoman while she was under the influence of alcohol, a Dubai Court of First Instance heard.

According to the ruling, Dubai police alerted about a drunk driver who was driving recklessly and refused to stop. A policewoman went to speak with the suspect after police patrols stopped her. The 27-year-old suspect refused to step out the car and tried to escape.

The policewoman said: “I chased her but she assaulted me. She even insulted me verbally and then bite me.”
The court ordered to deport the suspect after serving her jail term.
