The United Arab Emirates signed a landmark agreement on Wednesday to send the first Emirati astronaut in the coming months to the International Space Station.
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted commenting on the announcement: “The son of the UAE is capable of embracing space. We are seeing the results of our vision to develop the national space center, which we began 12 years ago.”
