Abu Dhabi: 8-month-old child dies, 3 other family members injured in a fire

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Department reported the death of an 8-month-old child and the injury of three members of a single family, who inhaled smoke from a fire in their East Bani Yas home, in Abu Dhabi.

The General Directorate of Civil Defense stated that investigations are still underway to identify the causes of the fire, and called for the need to comply with the requirements of fire prevention and safety, and to ensure the maintenance of fire extinguishers.

Abu Dhabi Civil Defense also warned the public against gathering at the locations of fires, since it is a non-civilized behaviour that can hinder the efforts of rescue teams.
