ADP, Dubai Police save motorist after losing control of his car

Abu Dhabi and Dubai Police have saved the life of a man who lost control of his vehicle on Sheikh Maktoum Street in Al Rahba area towards Dubai due to a cruise control failure at an average speed of 130 kilometres per hour.  Police teams’ attempts to disable the cruise control and stop the vehicle succeeded.

Captain Issa Al Ghafli, head of the Traffic Control Department, stated that at first, the driver was contacted to calm him down and provide several solutions to control his vehicle. However, all attempts failed.

Eventually, Police teams suceeded in disabling the cruise control succeeded after a Police car drove in front of him with the same speed, and he was asked to hit the Police car from the back lightly until the cruise control stopped, the vehicle was then stopped off the road, and necessary assistance was provided to the driver
