UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued a law amending certain provisions of the Real Estate Law in Abu Dhabi. According to the new law, the following categories have the right to own properties in the emirate of Abu Dhabi:
• Emiratis and public shareholding companies in which the share of non-Emiratis does not exceed 49%, or those who receive a decision issued by the Crown Prince or the President of the Executive Council.
• Non-Emiratis and companies owned by expats are allowed to own and acquire all the rights on properties located within their investment areas and to make any action with such properties.
