Asian man arrested for illegal fishing in Abu Dhabi

The competent authorities of Abu Dhabi Police seized an Asian person who violated the fishing law by using fishing nets in one of Al Dhafra area’s marine reserves, which is a site where fishing is banned and entry is unauthorized.

Abu Dhabi Police confirms that overfishing threatens the marine environment and fisheries, and is one of the most punishable offences.

ADP also calls on owners of chalets to monitor their employees and raise their awareness of the need to abide by the law and to promote a culture of respect for the law to encourage them to avoid illegal fishing. In addition to reporting such abuses and practices so as not to be held legally accountable.
