MoHAP withdraws three hypertension drugs due to cancer-causing chemicals

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has decided to suspend registration and withdraw all operations of “amopress 5 mg” medicine from UAE markets, the medicine was used to treat high blood pressure.

The ministry pointed out that the decision came following the Saudi Food and Drug Administration’s decision to withdraw this medicine which was registered with the Ministry of Health and Prevention after several chemical irregularities were reported.

The ministry also issued a circular to withdraw all operations of “arbitense 50 & 100mg”, which is also used to treat high pressure, in addition to “Hetlosar  50 & 100 mg” for potential chemical impurities that may be cancerous.
