The Abu Dhabi Media launched a new digital platform, titled, “Determination Content,” which aims to discuss issues related to people of determination, coinciding with the UAE’s hosting the Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi 2019.
The launch of the platform at the Abu Dhabi Media’s headquarters was attended by Dr. Ali bin Tamim, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Media, and several executive directors and a delegation from the Zayed Higher Organisation for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, ZHO, led by Abdullah Al Humaidan, Director-General of the Organisation, as well as several employees of the Abu Dhabi Media who are people of determination.
Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, said, “The Determination Content platform is another key milestone in the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Media to assist people of determination, and is being launched only few days before the country’s hosting of Abu Dhabi 2019.”
Dr. bin Tamim delivered a speech welcoming the launch of the platform, which is part of the efforts to implement the directives of the wise leadership to prioritise people of determination.
“The UAE’s wise leadership has always had compassion and giving and supported people, as well as prioritised the entire community in a civilised and a respectable way, reflecting the values and ethics of our fathers and ancestors, which include respecting all people and providing those in need with special care and a decent life. In April 2017, the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced that this segment of the community shall be called people of determination. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, is also keen to support people of determination, by wearing a red bracelet bearing the slogan of Abu Dhabi 2019,” he added.
“The Abu Dhabi Media is keen to implement the directives of the wise leadership and keep pace with the latest global developments. Therefore, we launched the Determination Content platform, which is the first of its kind in terms of Arabic content. The Abu Dhabi Media appointed Noura Al Balouki as the director of the platform, as she is a person of determination. We are confident that she will make valuable contributions, and we thank and appreciate the work of the Digital Department of the Abu Dhabi Media for supporting the success of specialist digital platforms,” he further added.
Aisha Al Mazrouei, Manager of the Mohtawa Digital Platform, said, “The launch of the Determination Content platform is part of the Abu Dhabi Media’s digital expansion strategy, to meet the needs of people of determination and enhance the Arabic presence in cyberspace. We aim to deliver targeted content to all categories of stakeholders, through the use of state-of-the-art technologies for each category.”
Noura Al Balouki, Director of Determination Content Platform, said, “We are pleased with this leading move,” while highlighting the importance of communicating with stakeholders, to develop the platform’s digital content.
The UAE will welcome more than 7,500 athletes from over 190 nations for Special Olympics World Games Abu Dhabi 2019 between 14th and 21st March. They will compete in 24 officially sanctioned Olympic-style sports in what will be the first World Games to be held in the Middle East.
