Abortion leads a woman to court in UAE

A woman, who is on trial over adultery charge, claimed that she is married in her home country but without a marriage certificate due to their traditions, according to Fujairah Court of First Instance.
The Arab national woman, enter the UAE before two months and she went to the hospital over some pain in her stomach to discover that she was pregnant and the embryo outside her uterus. Doctors did an abortion surgery to her before police investigate with her.
The woman pleaded not guilty over adultery charge and claimed that she is married in her country and based on the traditions in the outskirts, they only need the family agreement and don’t officially register the marriage.
She was pregnant in her first month when she arrived to work in the UAE and failed to prove that she is married as she doesn’t have a certified marriage document.
The court delayed the case to next Tuesday to give a chance for the accused to provide evidence that she is married.
