A patrol from the ‘School Security’ initiative at Dubai Police has found a lost 5-year-old kindergartner holding his bag and walking alone on a public road at the International City.
The police patrol handed the child over to his parents after identifying their identities. Dubai Police also summoned the kindergarten’s administration duo to negligence and omission of the supervisor whoforget the child at the bus.
Brigadier Saeed Hamad Bin Sulaiman, Director of Al Rashidiyah Police Station and the Head of the Initiative, emphasized the ‘School Security’ patrol for founding the child to Al Rashidiyah Police Station where specialists in Dubai Police comforted the lost child inchild-friendly environment until the arrival of his parents.
Brigadier Al Malek said Al Rashidiyah Police Station immediately verified the child’s identity through his school books, indicating the negligence of the bus’s supervisor who had forgotten the child after getting the rest of the children off the bus. As a result, the child left the bus and started wandering scared acrossstreets.
“ The school’s head, bus supervisor and driver were summoned to the station and necessary action were taken against them”, Brigadier Bin Sulaiman added.
He also stressed the importance of constantly monitoring children when in public places either by their parents or education personnel. He emphasized that child neglect is punishable in law, in accordance with the Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 concerning child rights.
Brigadier Al Malek praised the efforts of the ‘School Security’ patrol rendered towards securing our beloved future generations, stressing that ‘School Security’ initiative is aimed at reducing crimes rate within the school environment and avoid negative phenomena. As well as providing security and safety, and instil values of happiness inschool community in order to support the Dubai Police strategic plan and achieve Dubai 2021 vision.
The child’s parents were extremely happy and expressed their thanks to Dubai Police for the speedy action of finding their child and maintaining his safety.
