Sharjah: Woman and child lose their lives in villa fire

A woman and a child of Asian nationality died of suffocation, and a number of people were injured after a fire broke out in a a villa in Sharjah’s Maysaloon area on Monday evening.

Colonel Sami Al Naqbi, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defense, stated that a report was received at the Civil Defense operation room at 9:43 PM that a fire broke out in a house in Maysaloon area. The teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and arrived in two minutes, and managed to quell the blaze and prevented it from spreading any further. The residents were evacuated from neighboring houses due to the intensity of the fire, which moved to the neighboring house and was controlled at 10:17 PM.
