Wales qualify for 2022 World Cup

With a 1–0 victory in Cardiff, Wales clinched Europe’s final ticket to FIFA World Cup 2022 at Ukraine’s expense.

Ukraine’s Andriy Yarmolenko inadvertently headed the ball into his own net while trying to clear Wales captain Gareth Bale’s first-half free kick.

Wales thereby heads to a first World Cup in 64 years, with an opening against the United States in November.
