Why do traffic accidents increase during Ramadan?

Ras Al Khaimah Police affirmed that more than half of the traffic accidents that occur in Ramadan take place before iftar as a result of excessive speeding and jumping red lights to reach home.

The Police also stated that many traffic violations occur before Tarawih prayer due to random parking in front of mosques, which obstructs the movement of other vehicles.
