Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official Spokesperson for the Health Sector:
• According to studies carried out by the health sector in the last 3 holidays, it was clear that there was a significant surge in infections and fatalities after these occasions.
• The average daily confirmed infections had reached over 2,000 cases after Eid Al-Fitr this year, which is more than 60% increase.
• If we compare these numbers with fatalities, the average death rate after the New Year celebrations had reached 16 deaths, equivalent to a 300% increase.
• After Eid Al-Fitr, the average fatality rate was 6 cases, equivalent to a 100% increase.

Dr. Taher Al-Amiri, the official spokesman for the “NCEMA”, announces the protocol for Eid Al-Adha, which includes:
• The Eid sermon duration will not exceed 15 minutes, and the mosques doors will be opened 15 minutes before the start of the Eid prayer.
• Mosques will be closed immediately after the prayers.
• We advise that the Eid celebration be limited to members of the same family living in the same house and relatives of the first degree, with the importance of conducting a COVID-19 test prior to the visit for everyone’s safety. Everyone should adhere to wearing masks and maintain physical distancing, especially when sitting with the elderly or those with chronic diseases.
• We advise paying the price of the sacrifice to the official charities in the country to slaughter and distribute the meat or through smart applications for the sacrifice. It is not allowed to exchange and distribute the sacrifice, gifts and food between neighbors, and it is strictly prohibited to deal with itinerant slaughtermen.
• We advise avoiding shaking hands and hugs, and it is preferable to use electronic means to distribute Eidiyah.
• The UAE is moving forward towards sustainable recovery, and today we see the gradual return of activities to normal after comprehensive strategies and fruitful efforts made by various vital sectors. It is necessary to strengthen the concept of the new life after the crisis.
