Mohammed bin Rashid: Today, I chaired a cabinet meeting at Al Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi, during which we approved:
• The UAE’s plan to join 25 new international markets for our foreign trade. Our non-oil trade annually exceeds AED 1.5 trillion, with a logistics network covering 400 global cities. Our country is already among the top 20 in foreign trade competitiveness indicators.
• A national standard of spending on research and development, as the UAE spends 1.3% of its GDP on research and development. It is the first Arab country in this field, and we aim to compete globally in the future.
• A set of legislative amendments in emergency and disaster response in the health, educational and economic sectors.
