Dubai Cops honoured for Swift Response in arresting Murderer

The Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, H.E Lt. General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, has honored two police officers for their prompt and high professional response in arresting a murderer at the crime scene.

The honouring ceremony was also attended by Brigadier Dr Tariq Tahlak, Director of Naif Police Station; Corporal Abdullah Al Hosani; Policeman Abdullah Noor Al Din and a number of Dubai Police officers.

Al Marri praised the swift action and devotion of Corporal Abdullah Al Hosani and Policeman Abdullah Noor Al Din in handling the criminal case and arresting the murderer, affirming the Dubai Police’s keenness to respond rapidly to emergencies and crime reports, capture perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The Murder

Brig. Dr Tahlak revealed that Corp. Hosani and Policeman Noor Al Din were patrolling the Freij Murar area in Naif Police Station jurisdiction around 2:00 PM on Friday, when they noticed a huge crowd gathered near a grocery store and surrounded a man of Arab National holding two knives and waving them around hysterically. He was threating to attack whomever comes near after he stabbed multiple times to death a man of the same nationality.

“The officers reacted professionally to the incident and prevented the stabber from committing further assaults to anyone, as they swiftly surrounded, disarmed and tied him up while waiting for backu,” Brig. Dr Tahlak added.

“After questioning the witnesses, it was clear that both the offender and victim entered the grocery store together, but when the victim was about to leave, the former attacked him I the back with multiple stabs and left him in the ground heavily bleeding,” he continued.

“The offender started screaming and waving the knives to scare the crowd, that is when the two officers arrived to the scene, succeeded in handling the situation and ensured everyone’s safety,” he added.

The ambulance reached the crime scene and the victim received first aid by paramedics, yet he passed away as a result of his wounds.

The criminal was referred to the Public Prosecution for further legal action.
