An employee was arrested in a bribery case

The Judicial Authority of Sharjah Criminal Court heard the testimony of the witness in the case of a government employee aged in the fifties who was caught during receiving a financial bribe, in order to facilitate official transaction for a company taking advantage of his position.

The witness said, in coordination with the secret source, they managed to arrest the defendant. Accordingly, the witness went to the scene with the officer as the accused was caught in the source’s vehicle in possession of the money, and by asking him in English about the money he said at the beginning that he received it as assistance from his friend, and after investigating him again, he admitted that the money was a bribe for facilitating transactions.

The defendant denied the charges against him, stressing that he had not seen the witness previously. The “Sharjah Criminal court” postponed the hearing to March 10, to hear the statements of the other witnesses.
