Temporary suspension of travel using ID card

Federal Authority for Identity and Nationality decided the suspension of movement with the use of the national identity card temporarily, as of Friday 12:01AM for UAE and GCC citizens as part of a series of precautionary measures to curb the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

The authority also confirmed the use of the passport document is mandatory for the purpose of monitoring the individual’s movement between the countries from which the spread of the new Corona virus poses a threat to citizens and residents of the country.

UAE citizens who already left the country using the national ID card and the GCC citizens who are already inside the UAE before the issuance of this decision are excluded. These procedures are considered temporary and subject to review and assessment.
