AED 500 Million for improving citizen’s life in Dubai

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has issued new directives at the Dubai Council, putting Dh 500 million towards the implementation of projects at citizens’ residential areas, based on their ideas and suggestions as part of the Design Your Life Campaign.

His highness tweeted via his official account: Today, I chaired the third meeting of the Dubai Council, and our first decisions were to allocate AED 500,000,000 to improve citizens’ life in Dubai based on what they want and not based on what government departments are planning for them. We dedicated a page to receive citizens ’ideas about the facilities, yards, and gardens they want.

422 citizens were approved for exemption from their debts to housing programmes, and all citizens were exempted from mortgage fees related to housing loans.

The council also exempted youth from electricity connection fees for their new homes, provided that the homes’ construction costs did not exceed Dh 4 million.

12 integrated councils will be built in all Dubai neighbourhoods to be community meeting hubs for citizens’ gatherings and social events.
