Fujairah Police impounded 47 vehicles during the National Day holiday

Fujairah Police impounded 47 vehicles during the National Day holiday for a period ranging from one month to two months, imposed fines up to AED 2,000 and the registred black points on drivers for violating the traffic law, vehicle decoration regulations, producing noise, reckless driving, driving without license and misconduct behaviors far from the manifestation of a civilized celebration.

Brigadier Ali Rashid bin Awash Al Yamahi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department and Chairman of the Security Committee for the National Day celebrations said that the drivers whom their vehicles were impounded have violated the traffic law despite the intensive awareness campaigns through various media channels by publishing and clarifying the guidelines for car decoration. Reflecting the culture of laws and regulations respect and the concern for public safety.

Al-Yamahi explained that the most prominent violations that were pointed during the celebrations of the 48th National Day were the use of “confetti sprays” by drivers and passengers, stick the body out of the windows and ride on top of vehicle roof, and install things on vehicles that obstruct the vision and safety, producing noise and reckless driving.

Brigadier Ibn Awash revealed that the National Day holiday witnessed a number of minor traffic accidents at the emirate, and one incident led to the injury of two people with moderate injuries.

He also praised the discipline of the motorists during the National Day and adherence to the regulations of decorating.

He also urges drivers whose vehicles are still decorated to remove it as soon as possible to avoid traffic offences especially after the end of the grace period which is scheduled on next Thursday, 05/12/2019.
