Heavy rains in some parts of the UAE, weather alert issued

Alert is in effect until 8pm.

Heavy rainfall has hit parts of UAE on Friday afternoon.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), rainfall had hit Maleha and Al Fili in Sharjah.

The Met department also issued a weather alert for Friday evening. 

“Convective clouds formation, associated with some rainfall and fresh wins with speed reaching 45kmph will cause blowing dust and sand. Horizontal visibility will be reduced to less than 2000 metres,” the alert read.

The alert will be in effect until 8pm on Friday.
