Workers allowed leave in UAE during working hours for 5 days

UAE has announced a brief break for public sector employees for five days so that they can practice their right to vote during the Federal National Council elections.

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) issued a circular on Tuesday, urging all ministries and federal entities to let their staffers leave their work place during office hours to take part in the FNC elections as per the rules – between October 1 and 5, 2019.

Polling stations are ready as early voting for this year’s Federal National Council (FNC) elections starts today. It will run from 9am to 6pm and continue until Thursday, the National Election Committee (NEC) has announced.
