The Dubai Court of Appeal reduced the prison sentence for an African driver to three months from an earlier sentence of six months, after being charged with threatening to kill an African woman. He borrowed AED 2,500 from her, when she asked him to repay her, he began sending her WhatsApp messages in which he threatened to kill her.
According to official records, the 21-year-old woman filed a case against the 39-year-old African driver, claiming he threatened to kill her when she asked him to pay back an AED 2,500 debt.
She reported him to Al Qusais Police Station and showed the officers a message that read: “If you cause me to be arrested and be sent to prison over this, I will kill you and your family.
