At least 24 dead, 20 girls missing in Texas floods

At least 24 people have died and several others remain missing, including 20 young girls from a summer camp, after flash floods swept through Kerr County in the US state of Texas.

The disaster was triggered by unprecedented overnight rainfall totalling 25 centimetres in just a few hours, which caused the Guadalupe River to overflow violently.
