Iran begins voting in presidential election

Polling stations have opened across Iran and other stations for expats globally, as Iranians are heading to elect a new president, Iran’s Mehr News Agency reported.

Head of Iran’s election headquarters confirmed Thursday that 61,452,321 eligible voters are set to cast ballots in the snap election.

Mehr added that around 60,000 polling stations have been set up for Friday’s elections, with equipment and facilities have been dispatched to provinces to ensure a seamless voting process.
