Dubai: Two defendants fined $200,000 for impersonating gold investors

The “Dubai Prosecution” referred two defendants to the Misdemeanor Court for committing fraud to seize the funds of others.

They impersonated as gold investors and during their meeting with the victim, they brought a plastic box full of gold bars, so he gave the sums to the defendants as an initial payment.

The court ruled to punish them with 3 months imprisonment and a fine equivalent to US 200,000, in addition to deportation.
