Wellbeing Council discusses youth projects, infrastructure initiatives

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development and Chairperson of the Wellbeing Council, emphasised that wellbeing has become part of a daily targeted reality towards a bright and stable future.

The value of human beings in the UAE has been established by Founding Father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and taken a growing trend under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, she noted.

She pointed out that the UAE is living in an atmosphere of accelerated transformational projects, the results and objectives of which are focused on well-being, especially in light of the support given by the UAE’s wise leadership and keenness to create the UAE’s worthy rank globally in terms of integrated services, wellbeing and a bright future.

This was stated by Buhumaid while chairing the Second Wellbeing Meeting at the Dubai Future Foundation with the attendance and participation of the council’s members.

The meeting highlighted the latest developments of the National Programme for Happiness and Wellbeing of the Ministry of Community Development, the results of the International Day of Happiness, and the most prominent initiatives that enhance wellbeing at a national level.

During the meeting, the Federal Youth Authority reviewed the UAE’s efforts to invest in people through a report that includes the privileges and services provided by the UAE to improve the well-being of individuals and youth in various sectors.

The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure also reviewed well-being applications and practices and the most prominent projects in the field of energy, housing and transport. Ajman Statistics and Competitiveness Centre reviewed the fourth edition of the child happiness study in Ajman as well as the implemented social experiences to support this study and the improvement initiative done in the emirate.

The National Programme for Happiness and Wellbeing focused on the latest developments in the indicators of wellbeing strategy represented by designing a strategic indicator at the national level called the “progress in wellbeing index” in coordination with the government performance team at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs to be measured through the National Wellbeing Survey.

The meeting concluded with a review of the National Programme for Happiness and Wellbeing and the latest developments related to the National Wellbeing Survey, current procedures for analysing the results and the steps to be taken in the coming period.
