WhatsApp for iOS is coming up with settings that would allow you to react to messages

Finally, the update that we all had been waiting for is on its way. WhatsApp has been trying to come up with features that would keep them in the loop. With new and flashy apps stealing the spotlight, WhatsApp has been dropping down in rankings. The minds at the company have come together and thought of a way that would make the app more beautiful and more presentable for users.

For the past six months, we’ve seen that WhatsApp has been working on a new feature that would create a bit of fuss in the market. They had been working on a new reaction characteristic which would allow users to react to certain text messages that they will receive from their friends and family.

This feature is somewhat similar to the feature available in Messenger and Instagram where users are already using this reaction feature. As it is only in its testing phase, it is not available to everyone. With the introduction of this feature comes along the settings for receiving this reaction as a notification.

You will be able to change your settings, just like you change your settings for your notifications bar. You will have an option where you can change the setting to whether you want to be notified when anyone reacts to your message or not.

Users will have an emoji bar, just like they have in Instagram and Messenger. They will be able to choose from a variety of 6 different emojis which include “Like”, “Love”, “Laugh”, “Surprised”, “Sad” and “Thanks”. We don’t know about the future because it is up to the app if they want to add more emojis to the emoji bar or not.

This new feature would also allow the users to see and check the notification. They can click on the message to find out how many people have reacted to their message and what emoji they use.

WhatsApp was also seen to be working on a “New Camera” feature in which the flash option on the camera was relocated from the bottom to the top right corner. Moreover, this change would give the users access to recent photos in place of the flash option.

Another feature that WhatsApp is working on is their new Status update feature. This means that while you’re sharing your pictures or videos with someone, you will now have an option where you can set it as your status and you will also be able to select the recipients who will receive your picture.

At the moment, it is not possible for users to use this feature as the update is not out yet and the feature is still in its beta testing phase. But we feel that it is really close to its release date. We hope that this feature would make users come back and use the app more because lately, WhatsApp has been losing its battles.
