SEC adopts mechanism of control on organic agricultural products

The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC) held its weekly meeting at the Ruler’s office, Tuesday morning, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the SEC, in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

The meeting discussed a number of topics on its agenda on developing government work of the development projects in all vital sectors to provide a decent living conditions for residents of Sharjah.

Sharjah Executive Council approves the mechanism for controlling organic agricultural products and pesticide residues in vegetables and fruits in the emirate, aiming to enhance the safety of agricultural products according to the best specifications, enhance awareness among farmers, and reduce erroneous practices that would harm public health and reduce the quality of organic farming products.

The council also directed to increase awareness campaigns for farmers, and to coordinate with the concerned authorities to qualify human cadres with the necessary skills and keep them up to date with the latest inspection and control systems in the cities and regions of the emirate.

The Council approved a draft Emiri decree on organising the Sharjah Classic Cars Club, and a draft Emiri Decree on organising the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club, with the aim of developing the legislative structure of the sports sector and keeping pace with the development witnessed by various sports in the Emirate of Sharjah.
