World’s biggest cruise ship to sail in 2022 and it has a water park and zip line

The world’s biggest cruise ship is set to make a 2022 debut complete with an on-board wave machine, a huge park, the tallest slide at sea, a water park, a zip line and even some rock climbing walls.

Measuring 1,188ft long, 210ft wide, and with a gross tonnage of 236,857, Royal Caribbean ‘s new Wonder of the Seas will become the world’s biggest cruise ship when she sets sail next year.

The title is currently held by another Royal Caribbean ship, Symphony of the Seas.

The family-friendly ship will be able to host up to 6,988 passengers, and offers over 2,800 staterooms and cabins for guests to choose from.

Wonder of the Seas is currently under construction in the Saint-Nazaire shipyard in France so we haven’t got much of a sneak peek yet, although the cruise line has shared some renderings of the ship for a taste of what will be on offer.

The ship is so big it’s going to be divided into EIGHT neighbourhoods, which will include the ‘first living park at sea’ with over 20,000 plants, zones dedicated to pools and waterslides, and even a private area with a sun deck and restaurant for those lucky enough to be staying in luxury suites.

There will be heaps of fun activities on offer too including live theatre shows, the brand’s FlowRider wave simulator machine, a 10-deck-high zip line, an Ultimate Abyss slide (which happens to be the tallest slide at sea), an outdoor movie screen, basketball, volleyball, mini golf, AquaTheater shows, pools, whirlpools and a spa and fitness centre.
