Beware of suspicious donation messages and advertisements

Abu Dhabi Police warns against suspicious messages and advertisements that claim to collect donations for unreal charitable activities such as: building places of worship, hospitals, helping victims in other countries, patients, or widows while aiming to misappropriate the money for illegal activities.

The penalty of collecting donations without a license is imprisonment and a fine of not less than AED 250,000 and not exceeding AED 500,000, or either of these two penalties.

Abu Dhabi Police urge the community members who would like to donate and help those in need to directly reach the licensed and official charity entities and report unlicensed activities through 8002626 or SMS 2828 or via the email found at the Abu Dhabi Police website: www.aman.gov.ae.
