The UAE Public Prosecution warns of “April Fool”

The UAE Public Prosecutor warns of the legal consequences resulting from spreading false rumors and making pranks that harm society due to what is known as the “April Fool”.

Such act is a crime punishable by law by imprisonment not less than one year for anyone who intentionally spread news, tendentious statements or rumors, or publish provocative propaganda that would disrupt public security, terrify the public, or harm the public interest, according to Article 198 of the Federal Penal Code.
