Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp all down for hours as millions across the globe affected

FACEBOOK and Instagram went out of action for hours in the UK and worldwide, leaving millions of users furious.

Those hoping to log on were left facing an error message saying the site “can’t be reached”.

As a result, people were unable to also access Facebook Messenger on PCs or laptops.

Downdetector.co.uk received more than 6,000 complaints – with millions across the world affected.

There were also reports WhatsApp, which is owned by Facebook, experienced technical difficulties.
