NCEMA: New set of precautionary measures during Ramadan month

Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, The Spokesperson for “NCEMA”:

• In the interest of society’s health and safety, we advise everyone to avoid gatherings during Ramadan nights, limit family visits, and refrain from distributing and exchanging meals between homes and families. Only members of the same family who live in the same house can share meals.

• It has been decided that Tarawih prayers would be held according to the precautionary controls set against COVID-19 for prayers with no Iftar tables allowed inside the mosques. The duration of the Ishaa and Tarawih prayers will be limited to no more than 30 minutes.

• Concerning the Qiyaam prayer in the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, the procedures will be updated following the assessment of the health situation in the country.

• Religious lessons in mosques will remain suspended, with the possibility to participate in e-lectures and lessons. We encourage Qur’an reciting through smart devices and to perform charitable donations, giving alms and zakat electronically.
