Dubai Police has arrested a man for dangerously setting off fireworks in a residential area and causing minor damage to properties.

The man, who had appeared in a viral video while setting off fireworks in celebration of his newborn, has been referred to competent authorities for further legal action.

Dubai police warn the public against the use of fireworks as this could cause severe burns and even permanent or temporary disability as well as fires and damage to properties.
