Dubai: Thwart an organized international criminal gang leader plan

Dubai police thwarted an attempt by an organized international criminal gang leader to promote 40 kilograms of crystal meth in the country.

In an operation called the “Black Suitcase,” the police have managed to arrest the leader’s cousin and another accused who used a black suitcase to transport a large quantity of drugs from one place to another before delivering it to someone else.

The first defendant, the “cousin of the gang leader”, admitted that he was seeking behind this process to put an end to his financial situation. Stating that he had contacted his cousin and asked him to involve him in one of his criminal operations in exchange for money. The leader agreed to grant him AED 30 thousand and that his mission was to transport drugs from one place to another and deliver them to someone.

As for the second defendant, he tried to justify the crime of assisting the first in transporting narcotic poisons from one place to another, claiming that he would not receive any financial compensation for his efforts. Yet, the strict and resolute UAE law will not tolerate anyone who assists in promoting narcotics.

The Director-General of the anti-narcotics department calls on all public to take the initiative and contact the department at 901 to report any matter related to drugs or suspicion of any criminal act to protect the community members from such dangerous scourge.
