Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, the official spokesman of the National Emergency Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority:
- 7 teams were formed to conduct inspections and ensure the implementation of precautionary measures, with one team in each emirate.
- We have directed the teams to follow up on the implementation of all precautionary and preventive measures in line with more than 46 protocols that have been previously issued to ensure the health and safety of society.
- Police agencies in all the emirates of the country have issued the highest number of violations, followed by the municipalities, then the departments of economic development, and a number of other competent entities.
- The violation of not wearing a face mask was the most repeated throughout all the emirates where the Asian nationality was the least committed to the safety procedures.
- During the period from September 1 to September 15, the total number of violations issued reached 24,894.
- The raising number of violations is a result of the intensive efforts made by the competent local authorities to ensure the implementation of all provisions of national laws and protocols, and it has nothing to do with the infection surge.
- The authority took the initiative to prepare for the seasonal flu since July and called on the health sector to launch vaccination campaigns nationwide to avoid influenza outbreak with COVID-19.
- The similarity of symptoms and the repercussions due to the presence of two outbreaks at the same period will harm the national efforts and the medical capacity in order to respond and recover from the crisis.
