Saudi Arabia to resume Umrah starting from October 4

Approval issued to allow the gradual domestic resumption of Umrah and visits starting from Safar 17, 1442 AH, corresponding to 4th October while taking the necessary health precautions.

Saudi Ministry of Interior / The phases of gradual resumption of Umrah:

• The first phase: To allow 6000 pilgrims to perform the rituals a day in the Grand Mosque.

• The second phase: To allow domestic Umrah, visits and prayers for citizens and residents starting from Sunday 1 Rabi al-Awwal 1442 AH corresponding to October 18, at a capacity of 75% (15 thousand Umrah pilgrims /day, 40 thousand prayer/day).

• The third phase: To allow domestic and international Umrah, visiting and prayers for citizens and residents starting from Sunday 15 Rabi Al-Awwal 1442 AH corresponding to November 1, until the official announcement of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic or the risk elimination by 100% (20 thousand pilgrims /day and 60,000 prayer / day).

• The fourth phase: To allow domestic and international Umrah, visiting and prayers for citizens and residents at a capacity of 100% of the Al Masjid Al Haram and the Prophet’s Mosque, when the competent authority decides that the risks of the pandemic have disappear.
