8 people jailed for organizing weddings without adhering to preventive measures

The Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Prosecution orders the imprisonment of 8 people who organized weddings ( two in Abu Dhabi and one in Ras Al Khaimah) with a large number of attendees who were not first degree relatives. The organizers also violated the measures taken to combat “COVID-19” by not adhering to physical distancing and wearing masks.

The prosecution explained that it has taken legal measures against them, and urges the public to adhere to the preventative measures and health guidelines issued by the competent authorities. Stressing that refraining from following instructions is a crime punishable by law according to the federal law No. 2 of 2011and its amendemends concerning the establishment of the national Emergency, Crisis and Disaster management authoritym where violators face jail penalty not more than 6 months and a fine not less than AED 100,000 or any of them.
