The UAE starts phase three of the clinical trial process to develop a safe and effective vaccine

His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention:

• The UAE continues to expand the scope of tests and case tracing, where more than 4 million tests have been performed nationwide.

• The third phase of a possible “COVID-19” vaccine have obtained approval from the scientific research ethics committee in Abu Dhabi, a new milestone added to the UAE’s health sector.

• A research study will be conducted on two types of vaccinations in the third phase of the clinical trials, all conditions and requirements for the safety of the volunteer participants are met.

• We have more than 15,000 volunteers for the clinical trials, where the best scientific standards for medical studies will be followed and guaranteed. After the success of this phase, then we will start manufacturing the vaccine.
