Dubai Police has issued 52,069 fines against violators of the movement restrictions in place during the National Sterilisation Programme

The figures include 45,654 warnings and 6,424 fines issued to people for violating safety instructions: 38,702 fines issued against individuals who left their homes without necessity, i.e. not for work purposes or to buy essentials, meanwhile 10,286 fines were issued against those who failed to wear medical masks in closed areas or failed to maintain physical distance.

Other 3,696 fines were issued to members of the public who exceeded the maximum allowed number of passengers (three) in a single vehicle. Lastly, 58,641 radar fines were also issued across the emirate.

Dubai Police urges the public to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures accompanying the National Sterilisation Programme, and to report violators by contacting the Dubai Police Call Centre (901) or via Police Eye service on smartphones.

The force confirms that violators of the gatherings restriction, public or private, will face a AED10000 fine for the host and AED 5000 for each participant. Meanwhile violators of the physical distance measure will face a AED1000 fine, and Individuals who do not wear masks in public places will face a AED1000 fine. Lastly, exceeding the maximum number of passengers allowed in a vehicle (max 3 passengers) will impose a AED1000 fine.
