MOHAP: COVID-19 may remain alive for several days or hours

Dr. Farida Al Hosani, the official spokesperson for the health sector in the country: Some studies indicate that the novel coronavirus may remain alive on surfaces for few hours or several days depending on the nature of the surface, temperature and humidity. Hence we advise all individuals after shopping to get rid of the bags in a closed container, refrain from re-use and sterilize the surfaces where the bags were placed on.
