Destroyed a company’s data and caused damage worth AED 1 Million

The Public Prosecution revealed before the Dubai criminal court yesterday the involvement of 3 defendants from two different nationalities in causing damage to the data of a financial and economic establishment and destroying the backup copy of its electronic system which resulted in financial losses valued at AED 1 Million.

The Public Prosecution stated that the first accused is an employee at the harmed company which is active in the contracting and transportation sector, he colluded with the second accused from outside the company and provided him his “Username” and “Password” in the company, and the third accused promised them to provide a job opportunity with him with a high salary in the company where he works.

The prosecution said that the second accused used the remote “username” and “password” of the first accused to access the company’s information network.
