His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection revealed on Saturday during a press conference on coronavirus that the number of coronavirus cases in the UAE is 21, with 5 patients having fully recovered.
His Excellency Hussein Al Hammadi, Minister of Education confirmed that those diagnosed during the UAE Tour were technicians accompanying the teams, not the riders. The 131 student volunteers, who participated in the UAE Tour, did not interact with the diagnosed technicians.
The Ministers of Health and Education during a press conference on “Corona virus”:
• To suspend studies in nurseries starting from March 1.
• 5 of the infected cases had recovered which represents 25% of the total number of infections in the country.
• With regard to the Emirates Tour, those who were diagnosed with the virus infection were technicians accompanying the teams and not the participants, and their contact with the public was very minimal.
• We reassure all the parents of our 131 students who participated in the Emirates tour that they did not interact with the technicians, and in order for us to take precaution their parents were contacted and notified to conduct the necessary screening for them.
• A circular was issued to suspend all student activities whether inside or outside the country, as a precautionary measure to protect them.
