Two defendants on trial for drug trafficking

Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal sentenced an Asian defendant to life imprisonment for drug trafficking followed by deportation, while acquitted another defendant from the charge of drug trafficking but sentenced him to two years in prison for drug abuse.

In detail, two Asian men were accused of possessing narcotic drugs (methamphetamine) for the purpose of trafficking while abusing morphine, methamphetamine, and tramadol.

The investigations revealed that the other defendant in the case possesses narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for the purpose of trafficking, and was seized driving a public transport truck with the other defendant who snatched from the truck box a large plastic bag inside it 5 other bags containing a suspected crystal-shaped substance.
