Dubai Criminal Court sentenced an Arab businessman to five years in prison for beating his girlfriend to death, as he continued beating her with his hands until she had a fractured skull and nose, in addition to several bruises on different parts of her body until she suffered a brain hemorrhage which led to her death, according to the forensic report.
The Public Prosecution convicted the defendant with a charge of intentional murder, but he denied the charge.
In detail, the defendant murdered his Lebanese girlfriend after they were celebrating in her apartment in Sports City in Dubai, and he said before the criminal court that a brawl occurred between them, and then she slapped him on his face what ignited his anger.
He was intoxicated when he assaulted her in turn, then offered to take her to the hospital when he saw her bleeding from her nose but she refused, so he left the apartment and knew about her death later.
A security guard at the building stated before the Public Prosecution investigations that he saw the defendant exiting from the building at 3:30 am carrying two bags, and due to intoxication one of the bags fell and all contents were scattered which were shampoo and soap, when he offered to help him he had refused. The guard said that he asked him about the location of his car, so he told him that it was in a nearby building, but the defendant returned within 10 minutes and asked him to open the building door because he had forgotten an object in his girlfriend’s apartment, then the guard later know that the defendant had involved in a murder crime at the apartment.
The Lebanese victim’s friend said that her friend was absent from her work, and her manager repeatedly tried to contact her but she did not respond, and she tried contacting the victim’s sister in A Gulf country asks about her so the latter told her that she did not answer. She decided to go to the apartment and found the door open, and when she found her at bedroom she found her half naked and unconscious, she screamed and went out of the apartment to ask for help and the police.
The forensic report revealed that the victim was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and that the injuries she suffered were very violent.
